THE HAGUE, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Dutch economy grew by 1.9 percent in 2025, Statistics Netherlands (CBS) announced on Friday.

The statistical bureau said this marked an acceleration from 2024, when economic growth stood at 1.1 percent. Over the past three decades, average annual growth has been about 2 percent.

Growth in 2025 was mainly driven by stronger exports as well as increased public and household consumption, according to the CBS.

In the fourth quarter, gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.5 percent from the previous quarter.

Lex Hoogduin, a monetary economist, described the figures on X as positive overall, but noted that the growth structure remains weak.
