PanARMENIAN.Net - Renowned international lawyer Robert Amsterdam, founder of Amsterdam & Partners LLP and legal representative of prominent businessman Samvel Karapetyan, announced on Facebook that the San Francisco Examiner has covered a new report by Amsterdam & Partners, which accuses Armenian authorities of "unacceptable interference."
"Another reaction from an international media outlet... The report analyzes the politically motivated actions targeting the Church and my client, Armenian philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, which threaten democratic values," the post states.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and ten bishops and archbishops who demand the resignation of the Catholicos issued a joint statement calling for reform of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Pashinyan read the statement live on Facebook, after which the supporting clergy signed it.
According to the Prime Minister, a coordinating council is being formed to oversee the reform of the Armenian Apostolic Church. This council will operate on the basis of unanimous decisions.
