TEHRAN (Tasnim) The Iranian foreign minister expressed Tehrans readiness for interaction and dialogue with the European countries on the basis of mutual respect and common interests.
- Politics news -In a telephone conversation on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Dutch counterpart Caspar Veldkamp discussed the bilateral issues as well as the regional and international developments.
Araqchi reiterated Iran's policy of seeking good diplomatic relations with the other countries, saying Tehran is ready for negotiations and interaction with the European states based on mutual respect and shared interests.
The foreign minister of the Netherlands, for his part, hailed the long-standing relations with Iran and the importance of Iran's role in the regional developments.
Veldkamp emphasized the necessity of utilizing all diplomatic capacities to foster understanding in the intergovernmental relations and resolve disputes, the Iranian Foreign Ministrys website reported.
He also spoke about the three Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf, saying this is a bilateral issue between Iran and the UAE. Veldkamp noted that the Netherlands continues to support interaction between Tehran and Abu Dhabi in order to resolve any dispute in line with the international law.
