The inaugural China Health Industry Conference was launched on Friday in Haikou City, south China's Hainan Province.

Supervised by the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, the conference is co-hosted by China Media Group (CMG) and the provincial government of Hainan.

The conference is composed of forums and exhibitions, showcasing and explaining the latest policies and technologies in the health sector. The forums will also act as a platform for academic exchanges for health experts.

The organizers will also work with professional organizations to release a yearly report on China's health industry and a string of indexes reflecting the industry's progress.

Liu Xiaoming, governor of Hainan Province and a guest at the launch ceremony, told the conference that the province views health as a major civil industry and will live up to the fame of the island of health and longevity.

CMG will tell great health stories of China with its powerful all-media matrix, said Xing Bo, vice president of CMG, adding that media group will build a platform of health knowledge and news to promote the high-quality development of the health industry.

CMG will also work with the conference to integrate large and leading enterprises in the health sector into its information platform and spread authoritative news on the health industry.

A new cross-media product will also be created by CMG to provide timely and precise health information for users.
