RIO DE JANEIRO, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Flamengo have parted ways with midfielder Andreas Pereira following a year-long loan agreement, the Brazilian Serie A club said on Friday.
Local media reported earlier this year that Flamengo were negotiating with Manchester United in a bid to secure the 26-year-old on a permanent deal.
The parties failed to reach an agreement, though the Rio de Janeiro giants are understood to remain interested in signing Pereira on a long-term deal.
Fulham, PSV Eindhoven and Lyon have also been linked with the playmaker, who is contracted to Manchester United until June next year.
Pereira made 52 appearances across all competitions for Flamengo, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
