Over US$100 million was gathered by the Barack Obama campaign team in the weeks before Election Day.
The successful fundraising has shattered records for previous presidential campaigns.
Overall, Obama raised nearly $750 million during his run for the presidency.
The Federal Election Commission has been told more than one million contributors donated during the period, with more than half donating for the first time.
Obama’s Republican rival, John McCain opted to accept public financing which limited him to $84 million to spend from the beginning of September.
By comparison, Obama spent $315 million from September 1st.
Many donors gave repeatedly. 212,000 people were repeat givers who gave a total of $200 or more, averaging $490 each.
But like other campaigns, Obama relied heavily on big donors for nearly half of its fundraising, meaning those who gave $1,000 or more.

No wonder we’re going down to economic recession. Those folks have money to buy a seat for an anti-Capitalism black Marxist to White House, but no money to pay for the credit card bills and pay back the student loans. Too much contradictive for the Democrats like Grandma Speaker Nancy Pelosi to giveaway food stamps, unemployment benefit extension to those beg for economic bailout and waste our taxpayer dollar for the 2nd economic stimulus package.

I am with you on that, but by calling you an African American you are making a racist remark yourselves, you are all Americans, no matter what colour or creed you are, now that fosters unity, the other just segregation, keep cool pal, and don’t let the morons rile you!
