UAE captures alleged human traffickers

Police in the United Arab Emirates have arrested eight nationals in connection with alleged prostitution and human trafficking.
Authorities have accused the local men of taking money from brothels and illegal bars.
The official news agency reported that the accused, some of whom had worked for the police forces in the UAE, had confessed to the alleged crime.
The sex industry in the UAE has been known to involve former Soviet Union, Asian and African workers.
The announcement is a unique admission from authorities in the area that police officers have been involved in the UAE’s prostitution business, which is blatantly operating in notorious bars and nightclubs, especially in Dubai.
Prostitution is an illegal act in the UAE.
